Neon-LIVE is more than just a band; we’re a dynamic musical experience! Founded in 2015 by Garrett, Leah, Mikey, Bill, Jessica and Johnny, we’ve grown into a larger ensemble shortly thereafter adding Logan, Cayle, and Julia. The band adapts to a variety of events, from intimate weddings to large festivals. With our collective talents in piano, vocals, guitars, and drums, we specialize in crafting musical journeys that resonate with every audience. Trust us to provide the perfect entertainment for your next event—whether it’s a theatre show or a lively party, we’re here to make it unforgettable!

Garrett Steinberg

Garrett Steinberg has a passion and love for piano and keyboard. He has a masters in piano performance, studying under David Viscoli, and organ under David Cherwien. Garrett owns and operates a Janitorial Service G Clean, Manages Neon-LIVE Music activities, is the director of music at the Mankato State Newman Center, Organist at Christ the King Lutheran, sub organist at the Co-Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, Rochester.

Leah Shanks

Leah has sung in cover bands in the twin cities and currently is a lead singer in the Mankato-based Neon Live. She has been on stage in musicals in several theaters around the Mankato area as well as the Twin Cities. Leah is also a Licensed School and Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

Julia After living in 14 different zip codes over 15 years including 3 countries across the sea, Julia's husband Paul traded his Air Force career for one in Mankato, MN, where they are happy to be raising two lovely teenage daughters. Julia serves as Music Director at Hosanna church in Mankato.

Johnathan Moeller

Johnathan Moeller is a professional guitarist who has shared the stage with multiple musicians in a variety of genres. In 2008 he received an award for Outstanding Soloist at the Eau Claire Jazz Festival. In addition to working with various musicians, Johnathan is on the music faculty at Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Olaf College, and Bethany Lutheran College. He also works in music ministry at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato, MN.

Logan started playing music in Mankato in 1995, while he was working on getting his Degree in Music from Minnesota State University and also continuing to perform over 200 times a year. He has been playing, building, repairing, buying, and selling guitars for over 30 years. In addition, he has also been a financial planner for the last 16 years.

Mikey is a Physical Therapist by day and a killer funk player by night. His favorite Elton song is Something About the Way You Look Tonight.

A native of La Crosse, WI, Bill has played drums with Bernard Allison, Lamont Craston, and others. He works closely on all of the production elements of all the shows from lighting to staging, he has it covered.

Stephanie is the Department Chair of Music and Theatre at Minnesota State Mankato. Stephanie has her doctorate in vocal performance and teaching.
